Biography

Danish born makeup artist, Charlotte Willer came from the small country of Denmark to pave a long and impressive career in makeup. Her work spreads across magazine covers, television and film, collaborating with some of the most distinguished clients and photographers in the world, everyone from Patrick Demarchelier to Mert & Marcus. By mastering nearly every sector of the beauty industry, Charlotte’s eye for innovation and taste for freshness has made her desirable to makeup brands and within the fashion industry.

Starting with a career in physical arts and therapy, Charlotte eventually attended Christian Chauveau, a respected beauty institute in Paris. As she launched into the industry, she worked with prestigious clients like Estee Lauder, Clinique, Dior and Yves St. Laurent. Through her genius and talent, Charlotte eventually landed a contract in October 2008 with Maybelline, specialising in product development as the official makeup artist.

Her roster of celebrity clientele is also exceptional, having worked with iconic women like Uma Thurman, Kate Moss, Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore and Gwyneth Paltrow. As Charlotte respects each woman’s unique allure, she’s able to create individualised looks that match their personal style and essence.

A consistent feature in Charlotte’s work is her remarkable ability to transform skin. In each of her editorial photos, the models have stunning, radiant faces. The techniques are executed so professionally that the effect appears completely natural. Charlotte also has a sophisticated understanding of how light and colour interacts with the camera, allowing her to produce a high-definition result.

Charlotte has consulted for the Turkish makeup brand Flormar, while working freelance for L’Oreal, Clinique and other fashion and makeup brands. Charlotte divides her time between New York and Paris.
